Is your PC running as fast as you paid for?

Two quick checks that run in your browser: the refresh rate your display is really running at, and how often your mouse reports its position. Nothing to install, nothing leaves this page.

Mouse polling rate

Move your mouse in fast circles inside the box. It counts the position reports your browser receives each second.

What these can't see. A browser only knows what Windows gives it. Battery saver, a background tab or a browser's own frame limit can lower the refresh-rate reading, and some browsers pass on fewer mouse reports than the mouse sends (Chrome and Edge pass on the most). NOVA measures both from Windows itself: the Checkup flags a monitor running below its refresh rate and the Graphics page sets it to the maximum in one click, and Mouse & keyboard measures each mouse's real polling rate and can raise it.
